I think the fashion for now is dark reds and blacks. It doesnt suit short nails though, cos it will make the fingers look much shorter and will emphasize the short nails too. Go for pale shades till they've grown abit.

for short nails, definately dark colours, like deep purples, blacks or even reds.





um.. right now black is really in i guess! if you use it, make sure to put a basecoat or you will stain your nails =)

I don't know what colour is in fashion just now but if your nails are short then i would stick to light colours such as pinks , flesh colours or even clear nail varnish . These will not draw attention to your nails as much as dark colours would .
