YES , I agree with the first answer, Varnish remover can be used for this , taking the varnish off wood, along with neat ammonia, acetone, so Think you will have to re-varnish the whole thing,

I spilt nail varnish remover on a solid dark wood table and it has a mark where the varnish has gone - Help?
